05.02.2012 Movie Screening and Seeds Meeting
Tomorrow is our screening of “Vegucated” in the Quad at 7 pm. If anyone can help tomorrow at 6 pm with set up, please reply. We will be serving vegan food and we will be having a guest speaker, Milli Macen-Moore.

Also, this Friday, we will be having our Seeds meeting. It is forecast for the weather to be clear on Friday. A great time to harvest our crops. We will be meeting at the usual time, 2 pm in the Organic Vegetable Garden.

Next week, the Cultural Diversity Initiative is hosting a lecture by Eugene Moy, President of the Chinese Historical Society of SoCal. The lecture will be on the history of the chinese in the San Gabriel Valley.

04.23.2012 Seeds Meeting and SLW Change
The ASPCC Sustainability Committee at Pasadena City College, is
delaying Sustainable Living Week, due to the impending bad weather. It
will be pushed to May 22-24, 2012. It will be at the same time from 11
am to 2 pm in the Quad.
Also, our meeting this Friday is cancelled! Next week, we will be focusing on our May 3 screening at 7 pm in the quad.
04.22.2012 Vegucated Movie Screening
Next week, we will be screening Vegucated. This a FREE event, open to everyone, and food will be provided. A flier can be found HERE.
Part sociological experiment and part adventure comedy, Vegucated is an award-winning, guerrilla-style documentary that follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks.
Lured by tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture and soon find themselves risking everything to expose an industry they supported just weeks before. But can their convictions carry them through when times get tough?

04.21.2012 iBike at Pasadena City College
This May, the ASPCC Sustainability Committee, will be introducing the iBike program at Pasadena City College. The goal of the program is to increase bike usage on campus, increase storage, while providing better bike security.
The first iBike event, will be on May 12, 2012. The first 300 people to show, will receive a very stylish bike helmet. There will also be live music and refreshments.

04.18.2012 Sustainable Living Week 2012
Join the ASPCC Sustainability Committee as we kick off our third annual Sustainable Living Week, April 24-26 with tabling of local organizations and hands-on DIY projects in the quad. Network with friends like the Arroyo Seco Foundation and see what you can do locally, within your community, for the environment and social justice.
Continuing our sustainability documentary series, we will be screening “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” Tuesday evening in the Circadian at 6PM, and “If a Tree Falls” Thursday evening in R122 at 6PM.
This event is free and brought to you by ASPCC and the Student Activity Fee :)
