The County of Los Angeles is proposing a plan to add 816 new bikeways with facilities and bike programs. Please come to the bike master plan meeting to voice your thoughts.

FYI: Pasadena City College ASPCC Sustainability Committee is working on a bicycle friendly campus plan with bikeways and maintenance shop. Look out for any news on the purpose campus bike plan.

01.27.2012 Clean-up and Local Hike

The Pasadena City College Cross Culture Center and Arroyo Seco Foundation is hosting a local clean-up (Millard Canyon). Our drinking water comes from this area and is a sensitive area. Also, this event will be the first opportunity for Spring service hours.

A sign up sheet is in the front desk of the Cross Culture Center for transportation. Please join us.

A short hike is required to Millard Canyon. Please wear close toed shoes. Also, please bring a water bottle. For questions, contact Jonathan Frame at 323-405-7326 or Jimena at 626-585-7117.

Free Worm Composting Workshop

Additional event information — This is a free workshop and open to the public. Join Stephen Baldonado, horticulturist, garden designer and longtime worm wrangler to learn about one of the easiest methods for composting kitchen scraps and garden waste in this one-hour workshop.

No yard? No problem! Vermicomposting is perfect for apartment dwellers who want to cut down on their waste stream. A question and answer session and a tour of the Grow Native Nursery Westwood worm composting system will follow the workshop.

Held in conjunction with the Free Worm Tea Sundays attendees are welcome to take home free worm tea.
